Yao Tsing (Play To Win, Have The Desire To Win ): Ridiculous Car Incident

I was actually suppose to write this last week because the incident happened last Saturday, the 12th of April. my brother and I were walking towards our car after finishing our grocery shopping at Carousel. that was around 1 something in the afternoon. When we were loading the groceries into the car, my brother accidentally opened the car door on the left hand side of the passenger seat and it hit the 4 wheel drive parked next to us in the parking bay.

There was a couple in the vehicle at that time and the man just suddenly came out and said to my brother: "What do you think you are doing? That would be 50 dollars for denting the door!". He just said that immediately without even looking at the dent. My brother was shocked because he just demanded money just like that without even looking at the dent.

To me, I found it really ridiculous because I could sense that the man just wanted to take advantage of the situation. My brother was trying to explain to him that there was no dent on the door but the man keeps insisting that it is a dent and would cost quite a lot of money to repair. I tried to come in but the both of them were just going on and on and on proving their point.

What was I suppose to do in that situation? I was also late already because I was suppose to fetch Jin, Joobin and Soon Khit to eat waffles at Angel's Cafe in Fremantle and I really wanted to go because I have been craving for waffles and I heard that the cafe was famous for its waffles. The situation got worse when the wife came in and interfere and kept calling my brother a retarded person because she said there was a dent and would cost a lot of money to repair the dent, blah blah blah! There were also 2 guys opposite us sitting in the car teasing us saying we were idiots and we should pay the guy.

I knew then that I and my brother were outnumbered and we were being attacked by these people. I really did not know what to do! In the end, I said to the guy: Here take the 50 dollars! so we paid him and left. now, i don't know what i did was a wise thing or not but i did it because i did not want to take the hassle to go to the police station just for such a small incident and then have to wait a long time some more.

my brother was furious because he thought that we were being bullied and did not want to let that guy take advantage of us. i totally agreed with my brother but i just don't see the point of making that thing as such a huge battle over a small incident like that.

The question now is : what do you guys think? what would you have done if you were me or my brother? i am opened to suggestions because I know that everything we do in life is a learning process. these incident is my first time because I have not come across any situation like these before. also, i do wonder what would Jesus do if he was in my brother's situation? tough one man!

have not really been updating my blog for quite a long time, 2 weeks now if i remember correctly. i will try and find time to update if I can. just been really busy for the past 2 weeks. I also have been celebrating quite a number of birthdays for these past 2 weeks. lets see, the peoples birthday are Evangeline, Yan Hua, Jovynne and Brandon. wow! 4 people's birthday in a space of 2 weeks! not bad huh? it was good though, really glad to celebrate their birthdays with them.
